Work With Me #3: Back To School Prep Edition

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. I’m starting online school in the next couple of weeks so I’ve been trying to get into a routine and make all the notes I didn’t make last year. This week, though, I’ve been in a bit of a slump, so I thought that writing up another work with me would be a great way to force me into being productive. And, it automatically gives me a post to publish haha. I quite like reading these blog posts/watching these YouTube videos as it somehow motivates me to be more productive. I’m hoping it’ll do the same for you guys if you were also having a bit of a meh week. Enjoy! 7.45 - 8.25: Breakfast I woke up this morning at around 7.45 which is a little bit later than I wanted to but it’s all good. I had some breakfast and watched an episode of Vampire Diaries: my new obsession. I’m like 2 episodes into the second season and it’s very addictive! 8.25 - 8.40: Get ready After breakfast, I went and brushed my teeth, did my skin care routine and did my hair (a ...

My Evening Routine: Summer 2020

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. In this post, I'm going to be sharing my evening routine. In my opinion, evening routines aren't talked about as much as morning routines but they're both equally important. Since I'm a morning person, I don't enjoy doing anything too intense in the evening (like studying haha) but, obviously, I'm in school for most of the year and evenings are the only chance I get to get things done. But now it's summer and (even though it is the most depressing summer of my life) I can finally figure out my own schedule and do things when I want to do them. So, without further ado, here is my summer 2020 evening routine. Enjoy! Social media Around 5 o'clock every day I spend around half an hour on social media. I try not spending time on it during the day but I do sometimes let myself go a little bit haha. But one thing I always steer clear from in the mornings and afternoons is TikTok as it is very addictive! So, I spend most of ...

Work with Me #2: languages, writing and workouts

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. I took a day off this week because I was meeting up with my friend and I had worked pretty hard in the days before. But, I knew that I needed to get back on the grind the next day and I also knew that I needed a blog post, so I decided to document my day. I'll be telling you what I did and when I did it, and hopefully, it'll give you an insight into how I structure my day and how I spend it productively. It might even motivate you or give you some ideas as to how to spend your time. Enjoy!  8.00-8.40: Breakfast I woke up at around 8 o'clock in the morning and had my breakfast: cheerios without milk. I'm a very fussy person when it comes to breakfast food and this is pretty much the only thing I'll eat (besides pancakes and French toast but, unfortunately, I can't have that every day!). While I was eating, I put on an episode of Teen Wolf (I'm obsessed) and watched it.  8.40-9.00: Checked socials After breakfast, I switch...

How I'm Making The Most Out Of Summer 2020

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. As we all know, summer 2020 is going to be very different- at least for the first half of it. The country I live in is still enforcing strict lockdown rules- meaning my summer is not going to be the same. No late-night trips with friends. No family lunches. Even doing some of the most normalised summer activities, such as going to the cinema, are now threats to our health. In this post, I'm going to be talking about how I'm feeling about this situation and what I'm doing about it.  I am a British expat living in the Middle East (stay tuned for another blog post about my personal situation and what it's like). Every summer, I go back to the UK for two and a half months and spend my summer there. To me, it's not a holiday, it's going home. Even though I have been living here for ten years (and I'm almost fifteen), the UK has something that the Middle East lacks for me: extended family. The other day, I was feeling quite...

Guide to Quarantining

Image
Hello everyone! So, unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you guys know what's been going on in the world. People worldwide have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic- some more than others. However, a LOT of people are on 'lockdown' right now- which, unsurprisingly, is boring. Here are some things that I recommend doing so that you keep your sanity. Before I start, I just want to say that my thoughts are with all of you- especially those who are more vulnerable or are in a country that has been hit hard. I am very aware that, even though I am upset about what has been going on, there are plenty of people who have it so much worse. To those of you who have had events cancelled, I'm sorry. To the class of 2020, I'm sorry. To those of you have been struggling with your mental or physical health because of this, I'm so so sorry. You are not alone.  Here are some of the things I suggest doing to keep you occupied... 1. Keep in touch wi...

Work With Me #1: Studying, Tidying and Lists

Image
Hello everybody! Welcome back to my blog. So, unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you guys know what's going on in the world right now. Corona virus has impacted people worldwide and I am no exception. Where I live, school has been cancelled until further notice, and we are on lockdown. I might do another blog post soon about the situation for me personally, what to do in quarantine etc. but today, I wanted to get a lot done so I thought I would take you guys along with me. I haven't actually seen a blog-version of a day-in-the-life so we'll see how this turns out. This is just something to keep me occupied and maybe take your minds off of the current global situation. Hope you enjoy it xxx. Disclaimer: I haven't taken pictures of the food I ate- just the work I did.  First things first, I had breakfast: cheerios WITHOUT milk! Yup. I hate the texture of cereal with milk, and since I'm quite a picky eater when it comes to breakfast fo...

January Reflection and February Resolutions

Image
Hello everybody! Welcome back to my blog. Happy February! Honestly, it feels like January took forever to end. Usually time flies by, especially in such eventful months, but January took a long time for some reason.  We all know the worldwide things that happened in January. There were earthquakes, fires, an idol passed away and there was even a potential war. Not the best start to the year for all of us in my opinion! But there were also a lot if personal highlights for me- which I will be reflecting on in this post.  This month I...  Celebrated New Years with my family and friends. My family came over from New York and London and we spent the Christmas and New Year holidays together. Also, my really close friends came here too.  Got my mid year exam results back.  I'm in the British system and am in Year 10- the first year of my GCSEs. So these exams were technically the first exams I've ever sat as a GCSE student- and Alhamdulillah th...
